The story of Jasper

Jasper Van Heule (right in the photo), 28 years old from Lovendegem, obtained a bachelor's degree in automotive technology and then graduated as an industrial engineer. On weekends you will mainly find him off-road with his motorcycle.

This is my story!

I was working in the area and looking for a different challenge. In an area such as the port of Ghent, it is always interesting to check on the neighbours. That is how I ended up at Mervielde.

After sending my application, I was invited for an interview right away. It was clear, no time was to be wasted! It was very nice that I was immediately given a tour of the company. Even though I worked nearby, I was surprised at how large, modern, and impressive the technical infrastructure was at Mervielde.

When they offered me a job, I did not hesitate. I found an ideal combination of desk work and helping out on the work floor. Because a good engineer needs a strong connection with the workplace! This way I can enjoy myself from time to time by tinkering with our tractors. Which is also appreciated by colleagues at the garage!

I have been working here since May 2022 and am still finding my way, in general I am mainly concerned with the technical maintenance of machines and other technical installations. I also keep track of our projects at the Kuhlmann site.

Fortunately, there is a relaxed family atmosphere here, which quickly made me feel at ease.

It quickly became clear to me that the focus is on the employees at Mervielde, like with the mocktail bar. As a customer-oriented company, some things need to happen last-minute and sometimes things are dynamic, so I am happy to accept that.
