'I have been part of the Customer Service team for twelve years, and the job remains fascinating every day. Mervielde is a place where the boss knows everyone personally and where managers and other employees share the same offices. Collaboration and transparency aren't empty words here: as a team, we are fully integrated, allowing you to naturally take over tasks from each other and always be able to rely on your colleagues.

What makes this job special? Each day is different. Orders come with new features and nuances, which keeps you sharp and stimulates problem-solving skills. We often work with our clients' SAP systems. This allows you to independently capture, analyse, and find solutions. This is truly a job for those who like to take on tasks and think outside the box.

And contact with customers, especially by phone, makes you more spontaneous and a stronger communicator.'

Are you a solution-oriented thinker and doer? Where the logistics flow begins, you will make a difference every day, like Tony:

'As a Customer Service Representative, I'm at the start of comprehensive logistics solutions: by working transparently and accurately, the risk of problems in the next steps of the flow is minimized.

Not only do I consider the customer's requirements, I also analyse the bigger picture. What transport conditions must be met? Are the customs and excise requirements in order? How do we coordinate with our planning and logistics team? By thinking ahead and checking each detail in advance, I prevent small individual errors from turning into major problems later on.

And if something does go wrong, we take a solution-oriented approach. I analyse the situation, consult with colleagues from Business Support, Planning or Logistics, and talk with the customer to find the right solution.

What energizes me? The moment it becomes clear that the flow for my customer is running smoothly. But also when an urgent customer request is completed, a logistics problem is resolved, or a new product is filled, labeled and delivered perfectly as agreed. That satisfies me, because I know that my way of working has a positive impact on the entire organization.

At Mervielde, I work within a team, but I extend my reach to all departments. We share knowledge, build expertise for each client and their respective digital platforms, and learn every day. This way, we grow together, ensuring that our operators and drivers can work with a peace of mind and our clients can continue to count on our punctuality, quality and craftsmanship.'

'Fresh out of school and no experience yet?

That was me, four years ago.

What makes the job as a Customer Service Representative so special is how fast you can grow. I learned to think in solutions and quickly realized I could really make a difference. Contact with customers in different languages ​​is challenging at first, but now it's fun, and I experience every day how important good, clear and transparent communication with colleagues – both within and outside the team – and with customers is.

In my job, precision is essential: as a Customer Service Representative, you are the starting point for something bigger, because my work influences the entire logistics flow from start to finish.

In those four years, no two days have been the same – the job remains varied and challenging.'
